Email from my boss.........

LIFE EXPLAINED

On the first day, God created the dog and said:'Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.

'The dog said: 'That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?'So God agreed..

On the second day, God created the monkey and said:'Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span.

The monkey said: 'Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?'And God agreed.

On the third day, God created the cow and said:'You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years.

'The cow said: 'That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years.. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?'And God agreed again.

On the fourth day, God created humans and said:'Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years.

'But the human said: 'Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?' 'Okay,' said God, 'You asked for it.

'So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves.

For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family.

For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain thegrandchildren.

And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.There is no need to thank me for this valuable information. I'm doing it as a public service.

My Dinner Date
Caleb and I had a wonderful evening.

I picked him up after work today & took him out to dinner. Plans were to go to Rolo's but my shopping errands was on the opposite end of town. So I thought I would really treat him & take him out to Beauregard's instead. (As a little boy he used to LOVE that place, his favorite place to eat!) But tonight he told me that we could just run by Burger King & get him something and then go on to Beauregard's. But I decided no, I could eat at Burger King as well! He later told me that he had really wanted Rolo's cause that way it would take us longer & he could spend more time with me. Awe, how sweet. But when I told him we were going shopping, he realized that he would have more time with me so he decided on Burger King so we could eat quick on go on shopping. What a smart boy.

Gave him his turn at the camera for some reason, I never get a picture of me to prove I'm there! LOL
He kept talking about this "awesome game" that he wanted to go check out. It was something to go with the Nanovor game he plays online when he comes to my house, so he wanted me to see it. We went to Best Buy and he found it - we took a picture of it so his dad would know what he wanted for Christmas.
He really was excited in this picture - promise!

I did get him a character figure & a DVD for the same game. Hopefully he can put it on his mom's computer and be able to play it - she doesn't have the Internet so he isn't able to play the game online there. He was thrilled I bought for him - It was only $5, but you would have thought I gave him a million bucks! I was happy I could make him happy.

After we left Best Buy we headed out to Walmart. But I failed to get a picture of it. But we just bought groceries, so no biggie there.

Our last stop was at Sam's. We had a great time & we just enjoyed each other's company.

Here I caught him goofing off! But then I took a better picture of him.And then again to prove I was there I took a picture of us together, my arm wasn't long enough so this is the best out of the 3 we took!

We had a wonderful evening and it is definitely one we will repeat.
Tomorrow night him & Emma are coming to spend the night with me. Hopefully I won't forget to take pictures! I promised him we would create a FaceBook page for him! Good times!

The Old Paths.....

I liked the old paths,
when Moms were at home.
Dads were at work.
Brothers went into the army.
And sisters got married BEFORE having children!
Crime did not pay;
Hard work did;
And people knew the difference.
Moms could cook;
Dads would work;
Children would behave.
Husbands were loving;
Wives were supportive; A
nd children were polite.
Women wore the jewelry;
And Men wore the pants.
Women looked like ladies;
Men looked like gentlemen;
And children looked decent.
People loved the truth,
And hated a lie;
They came to church to get IN,
Not to get OUT!
Hymns sounded Godly;
Sermons sounded helpful;
Rejoicing sounded normal;
And crying sounded sincere.
Cursing was wicked;
Drugs were for illness;
And divorce was unthinkable.
The flag was honored;
America was beautiful;
And God was welcome!
We read the Bible in public;
Prayed in school;
And preached from house to house
To be called an American was worth dying for;
To be called a Christian was worth living for;
To be called a traitor was a shame!
Preachers preached because they had a message;
And Christians rejoiced because they had the VICTORY!
Preachers preached from the Bible;
Singers sang from the heart;
And sinners turned to the Lord to be SAVED!
A new birth meant a new life;
Salvation meant a changed life;
Following Christ led to eternal life.
Being a preacher meant you proclaimed the word of God;
Being a deacon meant you would serve the Lord;
Being a Christian meant you would live for Jesus;
And being a sinner meant someone was praying for you!
Laws were based on the Bible;
Homes read the Bible;
And churches taught the Bible.
God was worshiped;
Christ was exalted;
And the Holy Spirit was respected..
Church was where you found Christians on the Lord's day,
rather than in the garden, on the creek bank, on the golf course,
Or being entertained somewhere else.

I still like the old paths the best!

Never Forget....
She will be arriving in NY harbor on Nov 1, 2009 and commissioned in the US Navy Nov. 7. If you are planning a trip to NY, you will be able to tour the ship during that week.

Here she is

Here SHE is, the USS New York, made from theWorld Trade Center !

This is from CNN today:
"Strength Forged through SacrificeOctober 13, 2009 - 12:17 PM by: Maggie Lineback
The USS New York is, in some ways, heading home, even though this is its maiden voyage.
The Navy's latest amphibious ship was built in Avondale, just outside New Orleans, by shipbuilders who continued working through Hurricane Katrina to get the job done. They knew their mission was special. The ship contains seven and a half tons of steel recovered from the World Trade Center after 9-11. It's at the leading edge of the ship.
This morning, people lined the Mississippi River here in New Orleans, hoping to get a glimpse of the USS New York. She left Avondale for New York to be commissioned November 7th. Along the way, she'll stop in Norfolk to pick up Marines. The USS New York will be in New York for ten days and they're expecting about one hundred thousand people to come aboard and visit while the ship is open to the public. More information on how to visit is at www.ussny.org
Some of the people in the crowd this morning were men who built this ship. The head of Northrop Grumman's shipbuilding operations told us he got a chill every time he stepped on board. He said while they've worked on ships before, everyone understands the importance of the USS New York. They were sad to see her go, but happy to finally see her headed out to sea.
The weather matched the mood in New Orleans. When the ship came by our liveshot spot in New Orleans, it was eerie. A fog had settled in across the river and the USS New York looked like some kind of ghost ship."

"The ship's motto is: "Strength forged through sacrifice. Never forget"
